Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint

Peppermint essential oil is one of my favorites and I take this one along everywhere! If you have not experienced the Young Living variety, you be amazed and love it too.

Why You Will Want Peppermint

Peppermint has a strong component of menthol. I know you’ve heard of menthol, if you need a refresher, this is is another great constituent to google and read more about. It is what gives this strong essential oil some of its performance powers. Peppermint hands down is a wonderful oil to support the digestive system and is supportive to the gut and bowels while enhancing efficiency of the digestive tract. It supports normal digestion and is a key component in the Young Living DiGize blend (I bet you can’t wait for Day 10 when we discuss DiGize).  It can ease an occasional queasy tummy. It may also help support your exercise performance too.

Peppermint is a wonderful flavor enhancer of foods, particularly teas and desserts…YUM! It is soothing in tea. You can also freshen your breath with a drop in your mouth. Take caution, it is considered a “hot” oil so you may dilute with a carrier oil.

Some Facts About Peppermint

The peppermint plant is a hybrid of the watermint and spearmint plant, native to Europe. Peppermint essential oil by Young Living is highly concentrated, it takes approximately 1 pound of plant material to make up one bottle of oil. I’ve heard it been said that 2 drop of peppermint is also near the equivalent of 28 cups of herbal peppermint tea. Peppermint and all Young Living essential oils are highly concentrated.
